Look, I like Tiger as much as the next guy, but the bottom line is that we are sponsoring him. By “we” I mean that I am and so are you. And is that really something that we want to be doing?

As Gatorade decided to drop Tiger from their sponsorship, I began to wonder whether or not Buick would. You see, Buick is owned by General Motors, General Motors is owned by the Federal Government, and so you and I own General Motors. So, in part, we are paying for General Motors to pay for Buick to sponsor Tiger Woods.

Forget the drama that is dominating the news (I know I would like to). Even if it wasn’t for this. I am not sure that sponsoring Tiger Woods is the best use of taxpayer money. Call me crazy, but today Obama said that he expected a $30 Billion Dollar loss on auto bailouts. Perhaps we could all go without Tiger’s multi-million dollar sponsorship.
