We are passengers in a classic aircraft, an old Dakota (DC3) which has been given a new life conducting scenic flights. This trip we are cruising, at low altitude, over the magnificent city of Auckland.
We are flying slow and low so that we can pick out our houses and as we make an even wider sweep over the blue harbor we can see right inside the crater of the ancient Rangitoto volcano. It’s a new view of this glorious city.
This old restored beauty, vintage 1940’s has done time during the war and as a commercial aircraft serving in the Philippines, Australia, New Guinea and she now resides in New Zealand.
The current owners are a 50 strong group who have lovingly restored ZK-DAK to her former glory. This trip gives travelers and locals a unique view of Auckland.
