Ma’at was described by the Ancient Egyptian Ptah-hotep “as a path even in front of him who knows nothing”. The unique qualities of Ma’at remain elusive to the non-Ancient Egyptian mind. These qualities can perhaps be best studied through the texts “The Maxims of Ptah-hotep”, “The Teaching for King Merikare”, and “The Tale of the Eloquent Peasant” where variations of Ma’at through time are recorded and expounded.
