About the Gas Boiler Scrappage Scheme | Launched 5th January 2010

The UK Gas Boiler Scrappage Scheme was announced in December 2009 and launched 5th January 2010.

Under the scheme owners of old and inefficient boilers will be given £400 towards the cost of a new, efficient boiler. New boilers use less carbon and achieve savings of approximately £230 per year in average two bedroom properties.  The cost of the new efficient boilers and having them fitted is in the region of £2,400.

Some gas boiler fitters are offering to match the government saving.  Look around to see what are the best offers in your area.
