Mesotheleoma or asbestos cancer can manifest itself without any symptoms, however in many patients there will be warning signs of damage to the pleural layer of the lung. Mesotheleoma warning signs may include unexplained weight loss, persistent cough, pain in the chest area, night sweats and more.
Who Is At Risk?
Those at risk are anyone who has worked around asbestos in any form. Steel workers, shipyard workers, ex – Navy and other industrial workers who may have been exposed to asbestos fibers are at risk.
If you were ever exposed to asbestos and are experiencing any of these symptoms you should contact your family doctor and schedule an exam which includes a chest X-ray.
