A recent article entitled “Guide to Veterinary Degree Online Programs” provides a fantastic resource for working or professional students looking for an online degree program in Veterinary Technology or Veterinary Medicine.
Veterinary degrees have traditionally only been available at campus-based colleges and universities because of the clinical lab work and hand-on experiences involved. However, there are now a number of quality veterinary degree online programs available which mix online learning with local clinical opportunities. The resource mentioned above provides an overview of some of the top colleges and universities which offer a veterinary degree online, including:
- Purdue University
- Cedar Valley College
- Penn Foster College
- St. Petersburg College
The veterinary degree online programs listed above provide online course platforms which have fully asynchronous classes, meaning students are able to attend class and learn whenever it is most convenient for them. Additionally, all of the above programs contain valuable online resources for students, including digital library access, archived lectures, electronic reading materials, and discussion forums through which students can be in dialogue with instructors and fellow classmates about learning issues.
Due to a change in federal financial aid laws, distance learners are now eligible for federal student loans and Pell Grants. Students are encouraged to check with their financial aid office for information on private scholarships available.
