The 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremony will kick off the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Games on begin February 12th, 2010.The Games Ceremonies are mandated by the International Olympic Committee to promote international peace and understanding, honouring the world’s greatest athletes, and celebrating humanity. These ceremonies will take place in Vancouver’s 60,000-seat BC Place Stadium. What happens if you don’t have a television to watch the opening ceremonies? Jacques Lemay, a Vancouver 2010 Ceremonies Team member has worked on the Opening Ceremonies and believes they can cover every region in Canada. While putting together all of the ideas of how to represent every region of Canada, they will be able to show more diversity and creativity.

The Government of Canada and Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) will ensure that the Olympic Ceremonies are truly represented of the diversity and duality of Canada. In order to do so, they need to view the excellence and richness of the performance of talented Canadian artists.
