Iguanas need a large, airy terrarium with room to climb and a basking area. They can double their size in a year. Start off with a large enough terrarium so that you don’t have to buy a new one when your iguana has grow. A forty to fifty gallon sized tank would be preferable. They prefer an airy, open air home with foliage to make an outdoor feel. A mesh cage is preferable to a glass cage as they are better ventilated and a glass cage can heat up in the sun and cause discomfort to your pet. Check the mesh to make sure there are no sharp edges that can cause injury. Read more at Setting up a Terrarium for Your Pet Iguana
