Are You In An Unhealthy Relationship?

Being in a loving and honest relationship is a wonderful thing.  Love is amazing when you are so deeply in love and have that someone special to share your life experiences with.  There are a lot of people who do not have that however, and who find themselves caught in a very unhealthy relationship.  Regardless of the specific reasons, if you are in an unhealthy relationship you absolutely need to do something about it because you are probably under more stress than you need.

Any relationship that has domestic abuse involved is absolutely unhealthy.  No matter what may have happened or how in love they both may be, no one should be mean and abusive towards another and especially not if they are in a relationship with that person.  Of course in most cases of domestic abuse the person being abused is not happy at all and just wants to get away but they are too afraid.  Especially if you want to remain in a relationship with this person you are going to need to make sure they get help.

Even if the person was not like this to begin with and you know that you love them deep down, the only answer is to get away from them at least until they have gotten help.  Every couple argues here and there and has hurdles to get over in life.  Even if you think they are your soul mate the only way you are going to be able to make things right is if you spend some time apart.  No woman or man should ever feel obligated to stay in an abusive relationship just because they love that person.

There are actually some situations in which both people are abusing each other and this is obviously the most unhealthy relationship of all.  Once this person has dealt with their own issues and is no longer being violent, you can consider whether or not you still love them and if you want to get back together with them.  When drugs are involved this is also considered as being an unhealthy relationship.  When a person is on drugs or abusing alcohol they are not being their true self.

You may want to consider, if you are in a relationship with someone who was on drugs or alcohol the first time you met them, as though whether or not you would enjoy being with them when they are sober.  You do not have to leave this person and find someone new but you will want to work on getting them into treatment.  It is not a good idea for either of the parties involved.   There are ways to deal with an unhealthy relationship and the worst thing that you can do is just sit by and not do anything about it.
