How To Separate Yourself From The Network Marketing Crowd
And Be Seen As A Knight In Shining Armour
So you have now joined the greatest Network Marketing Company on the planet and your wonderful up-line says to you, “make a list, make it long, make it strong”. you categorize each name as you have been instructed by your up-line to do. Who’s hot, who’s not, you then begin to call each of your “hot” prospects and as you go down the “list” you see a trend developing, you are getting 10 to 15 No’s to every yes, which means this “hot prospects” will be visiting your meeting this coming Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, whichever day works for you. Oh, remember you have to call them back to confirm and use whatever “gimmick” you have been told to use to “get them in front of the presenter” he/she will do the rest for you.
What your wonderful up-line did not tell you is that He is going to be seen as the “expert” and not YOU, after all that is the way it should be because YOU have no credibility. Your “prospects” know you and may even trust you because they know that you will not involve them into any “scheme” that is illegal or unethical, but they do not trust you to “guide” them to a way to make thousands of dollars on the Internet (which is what we all want to do) on a consistent, monthly basis, simply because Your “prospects” know that you borrowed money from them two months ago because you were a little “short on cash”. You paid them back of course because you are a man/woman of your word and last month you joined this wonderful company that will make “all your dreams come true”, theirs too. So here you are rearing to go, calling like crazy, all your friends, relatives and God knows who else YOU think will be “perfect” for this great opportunity.
Little by little it has started to taste a little bitter, but “they” tell you to “never quit” “a winner never quits and a quitter never wins”, so you forge ahead despite the fact that all whom you have “invited” to your meetings has not shown up or they are just simply not interested. The Law of Averages may ” kick in” after the fiftieth “NO”, and someone comes to the meeting, listens attentively and signs up, hooray, you have your first “down-line” but this method of cold calling may turn out to be the bane of your network marketing experience, because 99% of your “down-line” will never do anything else than purchase their “start-up kit” and watch the products they got gather dust, if they do not give them away or use them personally because, you know the most popular excuse, “I don’t know how to sell”, and that my friend is the problem, we are busy trying to “sell” our opportunity, products etc to people who are not “sold” on what we have to offer.
- We need to change the offer and before we change the offer, there must be a change in paradigm, a change in the way we think about what we are doing. This change in paradigm or way of thinking begins with taking ourselves out of the picture, so to speak, and focus on the other person’s needs, wants and desires.
- In order to do that you must become a solutions provider, a problem solver, someone who provides value to others, someone who will be seen as worthy of their time, attention and their money because you are providing or you have provided valuable content, for free, first. Zig Ziglar says it perfectly, you can have everything in life you want, if you just help enough other people get want they want.
- You are not just pushing a biz-opportunity down the throat of people who are not interested in your biz-op or products no matter how wonderful they are but you are engaging them on a very deep emotional level that identifies you as someone who cares and you really have something of value that satisfies those emotional needs. So, what you need to do is firstly, identify their problems then provide them with a solution for that problem. You will then become the “go-to” guy, remember, people do not care how much you know until they know how much You Care. If I sound like I am repeating myself, I am, it is that important.
