In order to get Pell Grant funding you must also have a valid social security number, have a good GPA, and if you are male register with selective service. You will have to use any Pell Grant funds for educational purposes. Also you cannot be in default of any federal student loan that you may have already received.
If you do not meet these Pell Grant requirements there is still a chance to receive the Pell Grant. There are more forms that can be filled out, one of them is for special circumstances. Special circumstances are like if you are under twenty-four and no longer are supported by your family or your income has drastically changed since the required tax year. Sometimes the decision will be changed according to these.
