TV Tuner
The TV tuner is the one that helps in establishing the connection between the personal computer and the TV signal. The tuner is readily available in the market. You can also get the window media centre remote along with some tuners. There are three different types of tuners;
- Internal TV Tuner Card: It is a video card. It gets its TV signals via antenna. If you have a cable connection, you will have to install that in the computer to make it PCTV.
- External TV Tuner: This tuner is plugged directly on to the USB port on the computer.
- The third type of tuner is of external type. It can be connected to the slots of card bus or express card.
You can connect one or two TV tuners at a given time. With one tuner, you will be able to watch and record the program on one channel only. While with two tuners, your PCTV will enable you to watch the program on one channel and can also record the programs on other channel simultaneously.
Once you have configured the tuner successfully, your PCTV is almost ready. You just have to go through the TV signal wizard so as to feed your tuner with the TV signals.
