The Nikon D5000 is a 12.3 megapixel DX format DSLR Nikon F-mount camera that was announced by Nikon in April 2009. In comparison to some of the more previous D-series cameras that Nikon has released, the D5000 shares many features that the D90 has. However, it is less expensive than the D90 and is more compact.
The D5000 is the second Nikon DSLR camera to feature movie mode since the feature was introduced by the D90. This capability has now been extended to their other models as well, such as the D300S and the D3S. With the D5000, movies shot at 720p are limited to five minutes in duration and twenty minutes for all other resolutions. Also, the one-button Live View mode features subject tracking and face detection autofocus modes.
This camera offers the perfect blend of simplicity and highly-advanced DSLR capabilities. This compact and powerful D5000 offers breathtaking 12.3-megapixel image quality, along with a flexible, vari-angle, Live View monitor for fresh picture-taking perspectives. Nikon’s EXPEED image processing enhances performance, contributing to split-second shutter response and continuous shooting at up to 4 frames-per-second to capture fast action and precise moments perfectly.
The D5000’s 24-fps HD D-Movie mode with sound captures video clips with amazing clarity. These features offer new and exciting creative opportunities. Fast, accurate 11-point autofocus with 3D Tracking, teamed with famous NIKKOR optics, assures incredible image sharpness, while active image sensor cleaning combats annoying dust automatically. Featuring a convenient built-in flash, 19 automatic exposure Scene Modes to make the impossible easy and 23 Custom Setting options to fit your preferences, as well as 14 in-camera image retouching functions, the D5000 is really the perfect DSLR, beginning with performance to meet your needs.
