I’ve had a real passion for woodworking for a few years now but I hadn’t thought much about buying a Lathe. I find that doing woodworking is something I really enjoy, I finally decided to try my hand at shaping and doing more elaborate carpentry. The Jet 708360 came highly recommended by some friends who also greatly enjoy woodworking.
At first, I was considering buying a much more costly and bigger lathe like the Oneway. But it’s really just pretty heavy and costs a bunch more and does pretty much the same job as the JET 708360.

The Jet is much cheaper and generally does the kind of projects I’m interested in. I was happy to discover that it was fairly simple to put together. The openings were flawlessly aligned, a good thing because I have had to deal with poorly aligned holes with other products.
As far as the unit’s performance, I couldn’t have asked for a better machine. It really works flawlessly and it is very quiet with essentially just about no vibration. I get a smooth cut and the lack of vibration makes polishing a whole lot simplier and easier. It also has a good tail sock, a well-built motor, and the belt adjustment is easy to maneuver. Plus, it has a very handy tool rack where you can put your other tools. I’ve been very happy with the 708360.

I actually don’t have any big complaints with it and the shipping was free when I bought it from Amazon. In my opinion, the Jet 708360 was pretty much a bargain. It’s a lot of value compared to buying the more expensive Oneway just for bragging rights.
I haven’t had any regrets so far with the lathe. I can recommend the Jet 708360 because it has definitely more than met my expectations.
