Creating An Article Marketing Campaign

Creating an article marketing campaign is not hard, if you go about it in a systematic way.  Anyone, with a reasonable ability to write can create articles on any subject and send them to ezines for posting, but unless the whole process is well thought out, planned and implemented, the results can be disappointing.  If it is done systematically, article marketing is a very powerful and cost effective marketing tool.  Begin by taking a realistic look at your writing skills –are you good enough with words to engage a reader interest and make him want to know more about what you are writing about?  If not, you will have to be ready to pay a professional to write for you – nothing can put off potential customers are much as badly written articles – because the article quality reflects on your product quality.

The next stage in your article marketing campaign is to have a bank of articles ready in advance – writing them only when you need to post them usually means working in a rush and the quality of what you, or the writer you hire, produce will suffer.  Pick a focus – a specific aspect of your product that will interest readers – and stick to that because only then will you be able to create a lasting impression on your potential customers.  After knowing your focus you need to spend time researching the market perception to that issue or product aspect so that your articles can either counter any negative impressions or bolster positive ones.  Since you will be focusing on one issue, the sequence of your articles must be logical with one leading to the next so that the idea you are trying to convey is positively reinforced.

You can do this by looking for FAQs about one aspect of the product and supplying answers – having questions answered always gives the reader a feeling of getting value.  However, do not go in for hard sell – article marketing is aimed at evoking reader interest and pushing too hard will make the article seems like a sales spiel.  Keep what you write informative and of interest to the readers – an article marketing campaign is all about getting people interested in the product, not about the fact that you sell it.  But you are not writing articles for charity, so you can simply mention that you are selling the product or if the format permits, put in a line or two about yourself as the writer, inviting people who want to know more to contact you.

An article marketing campaign will not produce overnight results but if you do not see interest in you website improving after a week or two, it’s time to think of a fresh focus to the campaign.
