Laser hair removal is based on the principles of selective photothermolysis. This is a process by which diode laser energy targets the dark pigment in the hair follicle, where the light energy is absorbed and transformed into thermal energy (heat). This energy heats the hair follicle to such a degree that it disables the hair follicle (the source of life for each hair on the body) and causes the hair to gradually fall out. The TRIA laser features a patented form of this technology called Diffuse Radiance TechnologyTM that takes coherent light and scatters it. This unique technology is what makes the TRIA device a safe Class I laser rather than a dangerous Class IV laser.

Here is a customer review By C.Kotz

“We purchased the Tria last month, and I’ve already noticed hairs falling out… You can tell which ones were killed off because they will look stunted next to the other hairs as they are growing out, and if you can pull them right out without plucking (the roots are dead, they just slide out after a couple of weeks).

I’m focusing right now on my armpits, crazy chin hairs (the hairs grew in on a scar I have). The chin hairs were the easiest to eliminate, and haven’t grown back yet. I’m really happy about that, because those embarassed me the most. I turned this bad boy up to the full-strength-setting right off the bat, I’d rather have to deal with a stronger zap up front and fewer sessions, instead of being a wimp and having to do it more often. Don’t waste the zaps. I rub anbesol across my skin then wipe it off a few seconds before I zap on the areas that were so dense that the zaps were a little too much… with the anbesol, I didn’t feel them anymore… but have to wipe it ALL away before zapping.

I shaved really closely before I used the Tria, because the darker the hair, and longer, the more you feel the zap. Plus the instructions tell you to shave closely to make zapping more comfortable. I have pale skin and dark hair and haven’t had any trouble with the system.

Activation seems like it would be difficult, but it’s super fast & easy and you can do it all online.

I’m really happy with the system so far, and hopefully once I get around to treating my legs I’ll be able to stop stealing those really nice razors my husband buys for himself. He didn’t even hesitate when I pitched the system by telling him I would be able to leave his razors alone (which means his razors won’t rip off his face when I sneak them back into his stuff after shaving my legs). It’s a win-win! His razors aren’t cheap, either.”
