Amid the pomp and ceremony of Patriots’ Day, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), escorted by the color guard of the Lexington Minute Men and members of the William Diamond Junior Fife and Drum Corps, rededicated the Old Belfry plaque on the Battle Green Monday afternoon.
The plaque, originally dedicated to the town in July 1910, was pried loose from its boulder and stolen on Dec. 10, 2009. Lexington police recovered the plaque on Jan. 26, with the assistance of three local business owners who offered a reward for its return.
