The Sharp CV-P10MX Portable Air Conditioner has to be one of the best portable’s on the market today. There are a lot of different portable air conditioners out there but one thing I have found through my own and some friends experiences is they either under perform or are way over priced. The first thing to note about installing a portable is they are generally a lot more work then a simple window AC. The only other thing you may need is some duct tape if you don’t want to drill into your window frame.
Although the unit weighs almost 90 pounds it is easy to move around with the wheels so it is a true portable. I have actually seen “portable units” that don’t have wheels, portable for who? Anyway the wheels do a great job and move smoothly over most surfaces. I don’t know how it would be on a really thick rug but they are a good size so I will have to assume they will still work well.

Some people do not like this feature but I personally prefer the remote. The unit is surprisingly quiet for a portable too. I have had window units that were a lot louder then this one so this was a big plus. One thing I hated was when you are running the AC and you need to turn everything up so you can hear and then if your talking you almost have to go to a yell. this unit ends that with a very smooth quiet run.
Finally there is the most important piece of the puzzle, cooling. As I mentioned before this unit does exactly what it is supposed to and cools the room perfectly. It is in our Living room and it keeps it very cool and comfortable no matter how hot it is out side. The room also has a sky light which adds more heat so the fact that this Sharp portable air conditioner is able to keep the room cool is really a huge plus.
