Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a plat forming video game developed by Nintendo for the Wii. It was first announced at E3 2009 and is the sequel to Super Mario Galaxy. The game’s levels are galaxies filled with minor planets and 
worlds. While its game play is based on that of its predecessor, the game was updated with gravity effects and new power-ups.
The game play of Super Mario Galaxy 2 is similar to that of the first Super Mario Galaxy, with a focus on plat forming based on and around 3D planets (referred to collectively as galaxies) with varying sizes and landscapes.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 received universal critical acclaim from major video game critics, with an average critic score of 97.42% at Game Rankings and 98/100 at Meta critic.
