One of the most important steps in getting your low voltage landscape lighting system right is correctly installing the transformers.  Here are a few easy steps to make sure that you install landscape lighting transformers quickly, easily, and without a problem.

The first thing that you need to do is find where you’re actually going to stick your transformer.  You need to find a weatherproof socket outside your home that is as close to your lighting fixtures as possible.  This will make sure that you don’t have to run as much cable through your property.

Next, you will need to mount the transformer.  You will want to place the transformer either on the side of your house or on a stake mounted in the ground.  Transformers are usually weatherproof, but they aren’t completely waterproof.  If they sit in standing water on the ground, they risk being compromised and getting water in them.  This could cause an electrical shock hazard in your yard so be careful!

Once you’ve done this, all that’s left to do is run the cables and switch on your lights!  You’ve successfully install your landscape lighting transformer!
