Advantages of sending your child to private school

Private schools can be very advantageous for students.  There are different reasons why this might be the best environment for your child, including the following benefits.

Classes are often smaller

Many private schools boast extremely small classes.  This can be a real benefit to children because the teacher will have fewer children to focus on and can do more for each child.  A lot of schools will have ten or even fewer children per class.  The children are less likely to get left behind because with fewer kids the teacher will notice easier if a particular child is having a problem. You should check around to the different private schools to see what these statistics are.

You can get religious instruction

If you are religious and would like this to be part of your child’s regular school instruction, then you should send your child to private school.  Obviously the separation of church and state prohibits this in public school, so if this is important to you, private school will be your best option.

If your child has special needs you can get a school geared towards this,

Special needs children can sometimes have difficulty in public schools.  With so many children and limited funds, special needs children are sometimes lumped together in big groups and might not receive the personalized attention to reach their potential.  If your child has a special need, then you can look for a school that specifically addresses their issue.  If that is their specialty, they may know exactly what to do in order to teach your child according to his or her need.

The parents may have more of a say in a private school,

In many public schools the parents do not have a lot of influence.  In private schools, the school might be more amiable to the parents’ direction.  If you want to have more of a say in your child’s education then you can look for a school that allows the parents to do so.

Private schools may offer more special features, technology, cutting-edge techniques, etc.

You can look for a private school that has special teaching methods, more computer-based learning and other special programs.

You can get your child out of a bad or “rough” school

Your child may be slated for a “rough” school that has a lot of fights or not the atmosphere that you want for your child.  You may not have another choice in public school if you are slated for a particular school so private school might be your only way to get him or her out of that situation.
