Credit card advances, or cash advances, are one common choice among loans for the unemployed. A credit card advance is similar to a credit card purchase in that you are using cash against your normal credit limit. However there are some major points where that differs: a credit card advance starts accruing interest from the second you borrow the cash, instead of being given a normal grace period like you would with a standard credit card purchase. It also generally incurs a flat fee of somewhere between one and four percent right off the top of the loan.
Since there are such unfavorable conditions attached to a cash advance, and since you also will be paying somewhere around 20% interest rate, a credit card advance is likely your absolute last option as a loan for the unemployed. But it certainly is an option, and in a dire enough situation, you should consider it carefully.
