Coronation Street (affectionately nicknamed Corrie and Coro) is a British prime-time soap opera set in the fictional town of Weatherfield, a suburb of the city of Manchester, England. Created by Tony Warren, Coronation Street is the longest running and most watched British soap opera. Coronation Street was first broadcast on 9 December 1960, made by Granada Television (now ITV Studios) and broadcast in all regions of ITV almost throughout its existence. Since first airing it has been known to be one of the most financially lucrative programs on commercial television, underpinning the successes of its broadcaster ITV. When the American soap opera As the World Turns ends in September 2010 Coronation Street will become the world’s longest running scripted television programme shortly thereafter.Get the complete episodes guide of Coronation Street
