How to make Apple Crumble
Peel six eating apples, slice them and take the cores out.
Sprinkle with lemon juice to avoid the apples discolouring
Place them in a pan over heat and add three tablespoons of water and three of three of sugar.
Simmer to soften the apples.
Take off the heat and cool slightly.
For the crumble you will need.
180g plain flour
80g butter.
80g brown sugar
Mix the flour and fat with your fingers to form a breadcrumb consistency.
Add the brown sugar and mix. Spread over the apple.
Bake in preheated oven gas 4 or 180C for 45 minutes. If not browned
increase to gas 6 or 200C for ten minutes.
