Why Renewable Energy is not Mandated

In the early 1970s, the price of oil shot up.
This was not due to any shortage but to Arab Billionaires looking
to make a few extra billion.

The higher price of oil encouraged those who owned refineries to
jack their price, so that American millionaires became billionaires.

Investing in oil refineries, many of which are owned by Western
powers was an easy ride to wealth.

In America, Capitalists rule, whether they sit in Congress, are
campaign contributors to politicians, or lobbyists. These people
are heavily invested in oil. Whether they own refineries, whether
they have drilling rights to an area, own power companies, they
have absolute say.

Where the movement ought have been to solar, wind, any other
form of energy which does not require Arab oil and bypasses the
‘middle man’, this can never be done.

This can never be done, because it will prevent the Capitalists from
making fantastic profits.

In 1970, the voice of the Capitalists was loud, and the politicians
bowed to their Masters. The world adjusted to higher prices,
the rich became richer, the poor that much poorer.

And Earth continued to use polluting, wasteful, expensive oil.

Using oil or gas to create electricity is inefficient. Having a central
location, sending the power over lines that can be blown down by a
heavy wind, snow or disaster, is so 19th century.

Yet, the idea of each person being able to produce their own power,
whether by biogas, or the aforementioned solar and wind, is suppressed.

It is suppressed because power companies are a cash cow. They
charge what they please, and one has a choice, pay it or go dark.

One can safely ignore any government talking about going ‘green’ or
cutting it’s ‘Carbon Footprint’ if it doesn’t subsidise solar panels or
wind turbines or biogas collectors for the private home.

The creation of efficient solar panels, small windmills, biogas collectors
if begun in 1970 would have most of America and the western world,
off the grid.

The effect of this would have toppled Arab distatorships, cut the price
of oil, and of course, prevented drilling in the Gulf Coast which has
led to the oil spill.

It would have made each home energy independent. Saving billions
if not trillions on electricity bills.

Of course, this was never done, and never will be done. It cuts down
profits made by power companies, oil refineries, Arab billionaires.

As they have power, the only places in this world that may ever be
energy efficient are minor third world nations ruled by benevolent
dictators.
