China Tin Industry Statistics, 2009

The outputs of tin in both 2008 and 2009 declined against the year of 2007 due to the financial turmoil. The price drop and supply shortage of raw materials resulted in the decrease in output. In 2009, the output of tin ore in China realized 115,000 tons, accounting for 37% of the global total, while China’s output of refined tin was 141,500 tons, up 8.5% yr-on-yr.

In 2009, tin imports increased remarkably year-on-year. In the first half of 2009, China imported large amount of tin to balance its shrink of refined tin output.

According to the statistics from National Statistics Bureau of China and China Customs, the report provides more than 60 reliable detailed charts on the supply & demand, import & export and operations in the tin industry. In addition, we will update the data in the report monthly, in a bid to offer timely data reference for our clients.
