The Best Investments for Women | A Survey of Female Investing
Women are earning a bigger proportion of the take home pay than their male counterparts. In addition, many more women are living the single life. For this reason, when it comes to savings, pensions and investments, in the words of the song: “sisters are doing it for themselves”.
We asked twenty women with £20,000 (circa $30,000) what they would be investing in over the next year. What we found was quite unexpected.
Gold and Diamonds
Although diamonds are still quite a good friend in the investment portfolios of women, more women are buying gold bullion than the sparkly alternative. Gold Price Analysts are predicting a slower increase in the value of gold bullion for the next twp-three years followed by an upward surge after that. The sooner women buy their gold investments the more they will see in returns.
Cosmetic Surgery
Perhaps not surprisingly, especially given the finding of research which show that the better looking women get the better (and higher paid) jobs, many women will be spending at least part of their £20,000 on cosmetic surgical procedures. Face lifts are still a popular choice but neck lifts are the most popular.
Holidays are Investments
A significant proportion of the women we spoke to will be blowing some of their hard earned cash on luxury holidays. They see these as an investment and a necessity. Holidays charge their batteries and will help them increase the amount they earn – still further – in relation to their floundering male counterparts
