Way back when I was fighting to shed weight and becoming absolutely desperate for some sign of success, I got caught-up in the identical “fast-fix” quagmire that people are still falling into today.

I experimented with all of the nonsensical diets that were available to me. I even sank so low as to try the nasty fat incinerating pills. I was doing all of these things hoping to lose even the slightest bit of weight. Something, anything … I was simply sick and tired of being fat.

Here is a word in my own defense. Back then, I had no idea of how dangerous these fat burning pills really were. I simply assumed that since they were sold at the local store and so many other people were using them that they must be safe … I couldn’t have been more wrong. My problem, and probably yours too, was I wanted to get results, and I wanted the results right NOW.

Unfortunately for nearly all of us (including myself), we don’t have enough patience to see things through. If we don’t get the results we want immediately we assume that we can’t do it and we quit. I’m not trying to turn this into some kind of a self-help, “Yes you can” lecture. The thing that I want to tell you is that if you are trying to find a “fast-fix” weight-loss program, the “fat-burners” are definitely the wrong answer.

I’m not going to preach to you about the inherent dangers in most of these pills … the exposure to disruption of your hormones, life-long damage to your metabolism, heart damage and possible heart attack and stroke. Everyone has read the sad news reports about the people who have died from taking these pills. The thing that I do want to pass on to you is information about some “safe”, fast ways that you can jump-start your fat-burning engine.

Of course, regular exercise and proper eating habits are always the best answer.

However, there are times when we need something “just a little more” to get started.

Some of my own proven strategies that can be safely implemented by anyone for fast weight-loss results:

Stop eating dairy products and wheat for at least two weeks. You have probably heard this time and time again … sorry! But the simple truth is that it really works. What you probably don’t know is dairy products and nearly all wheat products create an inflammatory situation in your body that makes it virtually impossible for your body to lose weight. Trying to lose weight while you continue to consume dairy and wheat products is like trying to extinguish a fire by throwing gasoline on it … its simply not going to work … PERIOD!

When I say “wheat products”, I’m talking about cereals, pasta, crackers and almost all kinds of bread.

“Dairy products” are cheeses and milk.

You can continue to eat eggs and butter. These two items will not interfere with your body’s natural fat-burning process.

Stop eating all grains for at least two weeks. I know you get tired of hearing this stuff … but these are the things really work. If you are planning on wearing a bikini in the next few weeks, or going to a high-school reunion and want to impress an old boy-friend/girl-friend, or you simply want to lose weight “quickly”, I strongly recommend that you go completely “grain-free” until you lose the unwanted pounds.

Please understand, I’m not telling you that grains are not healthy. I’m saying that you will lose weight faster if grains are not part of your diet.

When I refer to “grains”, I’m talking about spelt, quinoa, millet, oatmeal and rice.

All of these grains are healthy, but if you stop eating them for a few weeks, your body will be encouraged to lose fat a lot faster.

When drinking water, squeeze in a wedge of lemon. Lemon is a natural detoxifier for your liver. And since your liver is your body’s fat-destroying organ, you want to ensure that it is always working at its best.

You should strive to keep your liver as clean as possible by not eating processed foods and giving it a regular blast of fresh lemon.

Another effective, cute little trick is to add some cayenne pepper to your lemon-laced drinking water. This will help you have regular bowl movements (if digested food is not expelled from your body, your weight-loss efforts will take much longer).

Always eat fresh fruit before 3 PM. Once again, I’m not saying that fruit is not good for you. Fresh fruit is great, but if you are trying to lose weight, you’ll see faster results if you eat your fresh fruit earlier in the day and your vegetables later in the day.

By following this routine, you are letting your body function properly and you’ll notice a big difference in the way you feel and the speed that the pounds will melt away.

There are a lot of effective and safe strategies and tactics that you can implement before you resort to those off-the-wall, and sometimes dangerous, weight-loss systems.

Make a conscientious effort with the four steps I’ve just told you about. They are easy, free and very effective. If you follow them religiously, you’ll be amazed at how easy and fast you can lose all the weight you want to lose.
