Verizon Wireless Motorola DROID X Android Smartphone
Motorola, Inc. is an American, multinational, telecommunications company with a main office based in Schaumburg, Illinois. In 1928, William Lear started Motorola at 847 West Harrison Street, in Chicago, Illinois as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation. Its first product was a battery eliminator. Later, William Lear sold his automotive radio patents and the trade name Motorola rights to Paul Galvin. In 1930, the company changes its name to Motorola, since then the name Motorola remains as a trademark.
Motorola manufactures electronic equipment such as wireless telephone handsets, digital video recorders, set-top boxes and network equipment for home and broad networks usage. It also produces network equipment used on enabling computer telephony, video broadcasting and high-definition television. Motorola also designs and sells wireless network infrastructure equipment like signal amplifiers and cellular transmission base stations. Motorola also provides services to government for services like broadband systems and wireless voice used for building private networks and public safety communications systems like Dimetra and Astro.
The handset division of Motorola is currently focusing and zooming on smartphones using Google’s open-source Android powered smartphone system. It looks like the new device Motorola Droid X, which was released on July 15 by Verizon, is making a bite out of HTC Evo 4G and the iPhone as the smartphone is sold out online and very difficult to find at retail outlets across the country. If you have not been able to buy one, then you might need to wait until July 23 because Verizon won’t be able to replenish its stock so soon.
