I ordered the Weed Eater WE-ONE because I needed a riding mower and the price was 150.00 below the lowest priced tractor I could find. I received the unit in a reasonable time and assembly was easy with a socket set. You will need a pry bar to disassemble the shipping crate. The engine started the first time I cranked it. I really put this mower through its paces in high grass with rough terrain. I wasn’t disappointed. It pulled the slopes really well and did a good job cutting even Johnson grass.

Pros Price, reliability, light-weight and easy to push in free-wheeling mode. Stingy on gas and has plenty of power. 3rd gear is go-cart mode.

Cons 1st gear is a little fast for heavy mowing and small front tires mean you
have to keep both hands firmly on the wheel.

As I said I really put it through it’s paces on terrain with holes and ruts. If its too rough it throws the front wheels to one side or the other and locks up the steering. When that happened I just got off the mower, put it in free-wheeling mode and pushed it back a couple of feet. Then I was back in business.

Over all I was pretty impressed. Well worth the money.

Only had it for one mowing so far, but it was excellent. The cut is very, very nice. Low gear makes it easy for those tight turns and second for regular mowing. Third is only for running without the blade as it is pretty fast (the manual even states this). Started immediately, and the auto throttle, yep, I said it. There is no throttle, the unit is governed to run the engine at what the factory feels is best and I am not arguing as it seemed perfect.

Small compact, very easy to maneuver, electric start (although there is a manual pull start also) and cheap. I was going to buy someones old one when I spotted this. Walmart’s price is cheap and Home Depot matched it, plus gave an extra ten percent off. Wow. $584 assembled. Less then 150 more than the used one I was looking and this has a two year warranty.

I would have given it five stars, but with my heavy body (235#) it struggled on the very small hill on my South Florida (i.e. FLAT) property. I don’t think it would work in hilly areas, at least with me on it .
