The Lenovo Ideapad G550 2958-9PU laptop has an Intel Pentium, 15.6″ LCD display, and Microsoft Windows 7.
The Intel inside is the Pentium (Model: T4500). This is a 64-bit, dual-core processor running at 2.3GHz. It has an 800MHz front-side bus and 1MB of L2 cache. The laptop comes with 4GB of DDR3 memory.
The screen is a 15.6″ WXGA LED-backlit high-definition widescreen display with Vibrantview technology and 1366 x 768 resolution. This is a 16:9 aspect ratio which is good for watching widescreen DVDs. This display is driven by the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M. It features up to 892MB of Intel® Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 and supports Microsoft DirectX 10 for gaming.
For storage you get a 250GB Serial ATA (SATA) rotating at 5400RPM. This is a smallish hard drive at a slower speed. The optical drive is a multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive. This laptop does not have a multimedia card reader.
The networking options are your standard complement of 10/100 wired Ethernet through the RJ-45 connector and the 802.11 b/g/n wireless adapter for those of you wanting to be free of cables when you access the Web. External ports on the system include 2 USB ports, 1 VGA port, 1 microphone and 1 headphone jack.
The laptop comes with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition. Other software includes Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.1, Power 2Go, WinDVD and more and a 60-day trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 also included.
The laptop measures 9.6″x15″x1.6 and weighs 6 lbs. You can get around 4.5 hours of battery life from the lithium ion battery pack.
You can find the Lenovo G550 2958-9PU NoteBook for around $400, but you don’t get too much bang for your buck.
