Chelsea Clinton’s Rhinebeck wedding was held last night on July 31, 2010 in the Hudson Valley town of Rhinebeck, New York. From a local’s perspective, it was quite appalling to see the town in the grip of wedding fever as Chelsea Clinton prepared to marry her love Marc Mezvinsky at Astor Courts, a private area mansion. Bill Clinton dined at Rhinebeck restaurant Gigi a few days before the Clinton wedding, and it was amazing to see the furor by small town citizens over the expensive nuptials, the influx of onlookers, and the possibility of sighting politicians and celebrities in this normally sleepy little upstate New York town. Hopefully after the Chelsea Clinton Rhinebeck wedding fever has died down, the good citizens of Rhinebeck will come to their senses and life will go on in this beautiful quaint little village that is a haven for weekenders.
