The species Hosta sieboldiana has a large number of Hosta varieties included in it.  The sieboldiana Hosta is a large species that can grow to 24 inches high and 45 inches wide.  The leaves of this plant are grey/green, oval, and fairly large.  The leaves are 14 inches long by 8 inches wide.

Hosta sieboldiana is one of the most popular varieties of Hostas for the home garden.  They tend to like shade, a lot of water, soil that has good drainage, and occasional fertilizer.  They come from Asia.

This species has white flowers which are held on 24 inch flower stalks.

The leaves are thick and strongly quilted giving it some slug resistance.  The leaves are normally not shiny but dull.

Hosta sieboldiana is a great plant for a larger garden.  It is not recommended for small urban gardens as they do not have the required space for it to grow in.
