The Saskatchewan Roughriders (4-2-0) are second to the Calgary Stampeders (5-1-0) in the CFL’s West Division. The Roughriders were beaten 30-24 by the host Montreal Alouettes on Friday. The B.C. Lions (1-5-0) are tied for last in the West with the Edmonton Eskimos. The Lions have lost five straight since beating the Eskimos 25-10 on July 4.

British Columbia is last in 11 and near the bottom of the 35 offensive categories kept by the CFL. Among those league-low stats are points scored (122), passing touchdowns (three), average points per game (20.3), fewest rushing attempts (93), time of possession (26:52) and most times punted (53).
The Lions could get better against the Riders’ pass defence. The Riders have allowed a league-high 330.7 yards per game and are tied with Edmonton for average points per game at 30.5. The Riders and Eskimos are tied last in the leagur for the most points allowed with 183.
