Dermatographic Urticaria or Dermographism is a rather weird allergic reaction, also known as skin writing – it’s not particularly harmful, but it feels incredibly frustrating! No one’s quite sure what causes it – people have reported triggers as various as a bee sting, antibiotics, allergies, food intolerances or nothing obvious at all!
It’s called skin writing (‘derma’ and ‘graph’ ) because pressure on the skin causes raised welts… easy enough to draw on!
Possible cures include identifying food sensitivities, detoxing, antihistamines, and time. A lot of people suffer from it, but there’s not much information out there about Dermatographism at all. If you know anything about this condition, or suffer from it yourself, please visit this page and share your experiences of living with dermatographic urticaria!
