Designing your home with mermaids is a fun and entertaining process. You can either opt to buy some items to suit your home’s décor such as pretty figurines and wall art and other decorative items, or you can make your own.

If you love mermaids then you can easily make a mermaid ornament on your own using cardboard, scissors, pretty paint, glitter and a hot glue gun.

It is very easy and this can be a fun afternoon or weekend or school project to work on with children.

Find a pretty mermaid drawing or template online and print then cut it out. Place the mermaid on some cardboard and trace it. To make a set of ornaments trace more than one on a bigger piece of cardboard. Then, cut the mermaids out and paint them in your favorite color. You might want to paint them in some neutral colors, you can always add more later.

Paint on the facial features as desired. You might even want to get some artificial hair from the craft store to glue it on your ornaments for a more real look. Do not forget to paint the back of the ornament because if you ever hang it where it flips around it will look a bit empty!
