Miss Philippines 2010 winner can only satisfy to get the fourth runner up place in the beauty contest. The list was further trimmed down to 10 after the swimsuit round, consisting of contestants from Albania, Australia, Guatemala, Ireland, Jamaica, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Ukraine. The judges of the beauty pageant evaluate the contestants in swimsuits and evening gowns as well as by giving them interviews, prompting them to think on their feet and give adequate answers to move forward.
Not too many people know that at the time of her death she still had two dreams that remained unfulfilled. Maria Venus Raj was previously dethroned by the pageant’s organizers (BPCI) citing alleged “inconsistencies” between her birth certificate and the personal account of her birth. During which, Maria Venus Raj was briefly replaced by second runner-up Helen Nicolette Henson. A first runner-up candidate Diane Elaine S. Necio was only 17 years old and did not yet meet the age requirement policies of Miss Universe. Raj’s sudden dethronement and also the questionable ineligibility of the first runner up candidate caused a heavy uproar among her supporters. Some fans conducted online petitions, signature campaigns, Facebook fan pages, blogs, forums and petition letters to BPCI Miss Universe Organization to report the irregularities.
Venus Raj is believed by pageant experts around the world as one of the front-runners for the Miss Universe 2010 crown based on the preliminaries last week. She is set to shatter the decade-long drought of the Philippines for not placing in the prestigious beauty pageant. It was indeed the most glamorous night in the Universe as 83 lovely candidates are competing in the Miss Universe 2010 live at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Miss Philippines 2010 winner got the loudest cheer and applause when being called at the Semifinals round, thus giving her the big chance of winning the crown.
