If you’re looking to promote your website these days you have quite a few options. Every day it seems like a ton of new sites spring up giving you a chance to publish an article containing your URL. If the article is well-written you can often get a nice stream of traffic via these sites, but of course you are going to want to make sure the article is well-written to get the most out of your link.
Here are a few of my favorite places to promote my site.
EzineArticles- This is the granddaddy of online article directories. It has been online for more than a decade and currently has millions of articles from website owners looking to promote their sites. The best part about Ezine is that sometimes your article will be picked up by newsletters or other websites, helping to get your name and link out there to even more people. If you don’t yet have any articles on this site you are definitely going to want to register an account to get started. Just make sure to save your link for the resource box at the end of the article, as this site does not allow contextual links.
InfoBarrel- InfoBarrel specializes in how to guides and science and technology articles. If you have a site in one of these areas than this is a perfect place to promote your site. Articles index quickly and will show up in search engine listings soon after. You can even make money from your InfoBarrel articles if you so choose. This site allows links in the body of the article, but they cannot be included in the first paragraph.
Wise Rhino- This is a newer site, but I like using it because it focuses on publishing only quality content. Each article is reviewed by a human editor to make sure it adds value to the website as a whole and is something that readers will benefit from. This means that the traffic you get to your site is likely to be quality traffic as well. Wise Rhino allows up to two links in the text of the article so you can point users to two different pages on your domain.
When promoting your website or business online it is important to spread your campaign over a variety of sources. To create the maximum impact you’ll want to use both large directories and smaller sites with an audience of loyal readers. You will also want to find some websites in your niche that you know can deliver the targeted readership you are looking for.
