If you are not actually a gamer yourself, then buying video games as gifts for christmas can be a confusing business. All of these hundrend upon hundreds of different games in a large number of different genres and aimed at various types or age groups of gamer. How do you know which ones will be most happliy recived when they are given as a christmas gift? Even if you are a gamer yourself there are so many great games out there how do you know which are the best ones?

Well, hopefully I can be of at least some small help by suggesting some of the best games for christmas 2010.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is probably my top suggestion for this christmas. Due for release in Novemeber 2010 but available to order on pre-release before then it is set to take the festive season by storm this year. Especially good if you are buying something as a gift for a teenage biy that likes games with lots of action and shooting.

For something less violent you might like to try GT5, or to give it it’s full name Gran Turismo 5, which is set to be one of the best selling and most loved car racing games for ages, and certainly is the best this year.
