Security Gates

When it is time to start shoring up your home security due to a rise in local home break ins, then the application of security gates should be an option on your plans to protect your family and your possessions. This is more categorized as theft prevention than home security, but will put not only a physical, but a visual barrier up to let burglars know that you are aware of their presence, and here is an extra hurdle that you will need to deal with when trying to steal from our family. This will usually keep a thief moving on down the road, as they know there are people on the same street that do not protect their homes at all and it will be easy picking elsewhere.

Pedestrian gates
for your front, and side yard entrances will be a good investment as well, as offering ease of access for your family, and friends. You can add the option of a digital security lock, so the people with access to the code can come and go as they please. The third addition to all security gates will be wireless cameras that record any movement when any of the gates are approached. This will give you a daily audit that can be reviewed in the evening to see who approached your property, and also a great evidence record for police when an attempted or successful burglary has happened. Gates will not keep you one hundred percent safe from criminals, as some will see your new installation as a greater challenge instead of a problem. Fortunately those types of thugs are few and far between.

Home security gates also keep your children safe when outside playing, and will help prevent them from being easy targets to sexual predators who roam neighborhoods looking for unattended kids that they can grab easily. Give your children key-less panic buttons to your home alarm system when outside playing will give an added kidnapping preventative, as when they see a stranger approaching they can push the button, and set off the internal and external alarms on your property. This will embarrass the kidnapper enough usually to make them leave quickly, and keep your son and or daughter safe once again.

Using several layers of prevention and theft deterrents will generally keep your  family and property from being a target for most crimes. Just remember, if someone wants to get into your home bad enough, they will. But lucky for the world’s population, most thieves are junkies, and drug users who are looking for a quick score to get their fix, and will not go to a lot of trouble trying to breach barriers and alarms to get their prize.
