Know Your Legal Rights in a DUI

At least 79 Northern California drivers who had been arrested and charged for drunk driving has their cases dropped due to falsified police evidence.

Former Sacramento Police Officer Brandon Mullock wildly falsified at least one DUI police report.  He illegally detained motorists, misused preliminary alcohol screening, and inaccurately reported field interviews.

Accounts such as this ensue, largely, because motorists are unaware of their legal rights when it comes to DUI.  In California, those pulled over and suspected of DUI have the legal right to refuse police questioning and roadside alcohol tests.

Moreover, motorists charged with DUI must have been pulled over for committing a legal driving infraction and not just on the whims of the police officer.

Although the most obvious way to avoid a DUI is to never drive after drinking, you may also avoid a DUI charge by knowing your rights.

If you have any questions whatsoever that you’d like to ask a local Northern California attorney who is familiar with local DUI laws, courts, DMV hearings, police officers, judges, and other attorneys, I’ve found this site to be very helpful.
