Sunderbans National Park

This is one of the largest mangrove jungles in Asia and the world and has a healthy population of tigers also. Spread over 54 islands, part of the mangrove forests also host to a number of marine species. Take a leisurely tour of the forests at Sunderbans jungle camp with a boat and enjoy the view and the occasional sight of the tigers as they are extremely shy.

Bandhavgarh National Park

The national Park located in Madhya Pradesh also has the highest concentration of tigers and the park is open from dawn till sunset. The park can be accessed on jeep and on Elephant back. Accommodation in hotels around the Park is many and range from cheap to very luxurious. It also has sloth bears, jackals and many species of deers and birds.

Kanha National Park

This National park is also located in Madhya Pradesh and should be visited during December till March. This is also the peak tourist season. Apart from tigers, the Park is also known for its Barasingha (species of deers). The nearest airport from where flights can be taken id located 4-5 hours away at Jabalpur. Flights are available from Delhi, the capital of India. The Park costs for the tourists are quite nominal. Jeep tours can be taken that are extremely cheap.

Nagarhole National Park

This national park is located in Karnataka and the best way to reach here is through the Railway. The nearest Airport from cheap flights are available is located 6 hours away at Bangalore. The best time to visit is during the summer months from March to April, but the best season to visit is November to February as the temperatures are milder. The park boasts of 250 various species of animals such as tigers, sloth bears, leopards etc.

Ranthambore National Park

This park is located in Rajasthan and should be visited during the winter months of November to March. The temperatures can become extremely chilly in the night and tourist should take ample warm clothing. The tours start early morning, where tourists should be wrapped in thick jackets and mufflers as the temperatures can become extremely chilly on the jeep and open canter rides. During this time, tigers and deer can be spotted.

There are many other national parks such as the Gir National Park in wildlife Gujarat where lions can be seen. All states have national parks that are extremely famous. There are special wildlife tours that can also be organized.
