My Account Was Blocked on Xomba …. Then Reopened

Xomba is a great website to write for. The Xomba webpage layout may not look very impressive but it is a website to take seriously.

I’ve had some luck with earnings on Xomba as well as some decent backlinking traffic (though as of 2011, backlinking to your OWN articles, posts and blogs is not allowed anymore).

One thing you’ll need to definitely keep in mind is their article submission policy. My account was recently blocked on Xomba and it really worried me. I kept trying to log into my account and the log in would not complete. At first I thought I was typing in the wrong password. Since my password is a complex bear to type out and I often mess it up.

Finally, when I climbed out of my usual fog, I realized that the screen was telling me that my Xomba account was blocked. At first, I contacted their technical support thinking there was a glitch. I did get a prompt response. Their response time is always fast compared to other blogging sites and that is a big plus for Xomba in my book.

The tech person told me that there was a problem with my articles, not with the site. I had violated their policy by writing some articles that were too similar. I instantly new what I did wrong. I had written several articles very quickly and consecutively on the National Football League. While the topics differed, the content was too similar. In my haste, I had made the articles too similar. Some paragraphs had the same or only slightly modified wording. A big no, no in the world of blogging and a violation of Xomba’s ‘unique content’ policy.

So my Xomba account was blocked for good reason. I did have to send an email asking to be reinstated. I sent one to the tech department and also one I believe to their moderator. It took a week or so, but eventually my account was reinstated. I was thrilled to be back in the Xomba community.

The articles in question were removed by Xomba, which I was happy to be rid of.

I guess the morale of the story is to always abide by the rules posted on your site. Don’t take them for granted or think just because you wrote a few hundred or a few thousand posts, that one mistake won’t hurt you. It certainly can.

Xomba is a great site to write for. In spite of being temporarily blocked, I will shamelessly offer my referral link below.

You definitely can make a little money writing for Xomba. If you want to sign up, use me as a referral through the link below. It won’t cost you a thing, but Xomba will give me an extra percentage of the Google adsense earnings. Your earnings will not be affected. Please give it a shot.
