Use A Dive Torch For A More Enjoyable Dive

Having a great dive torch, or dive light, during your scuba diving excursions can make a tremendous difference in the quality and safety of the dive.  After all, even though the conditions on the surface may appear clear and beautiful, once you are underwater things are often murky and dark.

Dive torches come in many different sizes and features for your different diving needs.  For example, you can purchase a very small pen light dive torch for $20, which is perfect for shining a little extra light here and there.  You can also spend well over $100 for a high quality dive torch that will really light up your dive.

For most folks, an expensive, high end dive torch simply isn’t needed.  A small, inexpensive hand held unit is usually all that is necessary.  And thankfully, these small dive torches are not expensive at all.  They can usually be purchased for $20 or less and will last for many years.  They usually come with an LED lamp and are powered by two “AAA” batteries.

The Pelican Nemo 1960 LED is a great compact dive torch that is great for many different kinds of scuba diving excursions.  It only retails for $30 and puts out a respectable 24 lumens.  All dive torches made by Pelican are very rugged and well made.  However, if you were to actually break one, the company will replace it at no cost to you under their lifetime guarantee.

If a small, compact dive torch doesn’t sound like it will be enough to light up your diving needs, you might want to consider the Princeton TEC Shockwave LED Light.  This dynamic dive torch puts out an amazing 400 lumens with its LED lamp.  This lamp will undoubtedly last for years as it uses very little power from the eight “C” batteries housed in the unit.

There’s a great dive torch available for all your scuba diving needs, regardless of whether you are diving in dark or well- lit waters.  And because dive torches are so affordable, you’ll want to have one for every diving excursion.
