If you are looking for a career in masonry you will want to first consider an apprenticeship for a brick laying position. Traditionally, the US does not commonly create buildings from brick but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. In countries like Britain and Germany where a large part of newly created homes are still fashioned in brick the career may be far more lucrative. However, in the US, consumers still have a huge need to create some things from brick such as chimneys so there is still lucrative work available just about everywhere. Jumping into the world of bricklaying and paving can be a tough one, but if you are able to score some formal masonry training, you’ll be a cut above the rest.
