Walking For Weight Loss...
Walking for weight loss, you hear about it all the time, but is it just for the silver haired set? Heck no. Anyone can benefit from walking. It’s the best way to get in shape. What’s really great is that walking is a great way to start for anyone who is out of shape or just has some issues.
Some people either aren’t ready for or can’t go to a gym. For them, a brisk walk around the block (or around the mall) can be just the ticket to jump start their exercise and weight loss goals. Walking for weight loss can be sort of like an introduction to fitness.
If you want to get more out of your walk, walk uphill. Walking up a steep slope can really get your heart pumping, no matter how good of shape you may be in. To get even more benefit, add some hand and/ or leg weights to really increase the effect.
Even if you don’t have a lot of hills where you live, I’m looking at you Illinois, than you can still amp up your walking workout by picking up the pace. Invest in an MP3 player and crank up some tunes while you are out n your walk. Just try to not walk faster while listening to some fun, fast songs.
Make it even more fun by taking your dog or inviting a friend to join you… or both. Walking for weight loss is one of many physical activities that you can do to get in shape that you may actually enjoy doing. Enjoying it means you will do it more often and that is the best way to get in shape and stay in shape.
