Made in two basic styles; the ‘pop over’ tea cosy covered the whole teapot beneath and had to be removed completely in order to pour the tea, while the ‘fitted style’, which was often homemade, had a hole at each end for the handle and spout which enabled the tea to be poured without the necessity of removal.
