If you are shopping for something lovely for any room in your home and you do not feel like adding any more paintings you might want to consider to have a small series of a master of photography: Ansel Adams. A few Ansel Adams prints will look great in almost all types of home decor.
Ansel Adams is almost without any doubt the best landscape photographers of the 20th century. His main theme were the remaining pockets of unblemished wilds found in the Western areas of the United States.
Born in 1902 in San Francisco, Adams, while a somewhat terrible student, was not only a accomplished photographer but also a talented pianist and musician. In his twenties he worked at Yosemite Park where he began to take photos of the valley he was loving so much. By the time he was thirty years old he quit music entirely to target on his photography. Taking photos of the Sierra Nevada in California was his main job and it is what he is best loved for.
By the time he was 35 he was by then a well-known photographer although belittled by some for taking photographs of natural landmarks and mountains in the middle of the Great Depression when other photographers were active documenting the human tragedy of the economic situation. To some people Adams’s subjects seemed rather trivial at the time. Throughout his life Ansel Adams not only was a passionate environmentalist but was also engaged in the technical aspects of photography making an attempt to improve this medium. At the same time he founded the first photographic department in the US at the California School of Fine Art. Adams died in 1983 and a part of the stunning Sierra Nevada was soon after renamed the Ansel Adams Wilderness.
