Lawsuit Culture Who Wins?

There was a time when falling over meant you were drunk or clumsy, there was a time when an accident meant time of work and a painful few weeks; no more both now mean you are about to come into money when you file a lawsuit.

Lawsuit culture has swept the world, everyone is now capable of earning a living from their own misfortune, the legal vultures are making a killing at our expense by promising compensation to everyone. Lawyers, Solicitors and Attorney’s call them what you will, they are making money beyond their wildest dreams thanks to the No Win No Fee scheme but who really wins and who really pays?

What we do know is that the insurance companies lose which means we lose, town councils lose which means we lose, there can only ever be one winner in the lawsuit culture and that is the legal professions. Yes there are unscrupulous parasites that fall down non existent holes or have fictitious accidents; sadly every walk of life has them. Greed brings them out of the woodwork but it is the legal systems around the world  that allow them to cheat everyone of us because it is lucrative for these law firms.

On the surface it is easy too dismiss this practice as not really hurting anyone, apart from the obvious financial implications there is also a negative effect on society as a whole. Breeding in fact encouraging a generation of people who expect something for nothing can never be conducive to a successful and prosperous society, with potentially disastrous effects.

We are all insurance payers, tax payers and law abiding citizens, we lose out every time, we need to be proactive in stopping this practice and not only save money but save society. There are many genuine claims for compensation and it is important that every citizen is able to exercise their rights, this civility should not benefit cheats who are crippling companies, councils and society.
