Equality remains a major problem in our society nowadays. Nobody seems to want revenge. Justice is like a distant star, which is so elusive. But there is still someone out there who believes that the sense of balance and equality can be achieved somehow. An example of someone’s Kate Reed (Sarah Shahi), a firm believer that justice can always be found, although not always in the courtroom.

Kate Reed is a formidable trial lawyer who became a mediator. When his father died, she left her job at his law firm and decided to become a mediator in place. And sick and tired of bureaucracy and injustice in the legal system, tried to seek a life of balance, not winners and losers. She decided to change direction with her work after she realized her own ethical conflict with their profession as a lawyer.

Anyway, although I find it strange when he left his job as a lawyer and ending with a mediator, I totally understand why he did so. I mean with the cruel world that we have today, no one could tell whether he is telling the truth or not and who are we supposed to trust or not. Earlier in the show, Kate’s best friend, Julie, is about to get married but the father of Julie is suspicious of his son soon-to-be-in-law. Thus, while a standard pre-nup is being prepared cane, provided Kate with her boyfriend and she was surprised when he found something totally unexpected.
